Rohit Kumar, an associate principal in McKinsey’s Chicago office, helps lead the consumer service line within the Healthcare Systems and Services (HSS) Practice. He has worked on a variety of strategic and operational topics with payors, as well as on consumer-related topics in other industries. He also leads HSS’s research on healthcare consumers about both purchase and use of care. Recent client service and knowledge contributions include helping to redefine the product development process for a payor to include the voice of the customer; leading the identification of alternate distribution channels that will be important to both retail and group customers in the post-reform environment; and leading a variety of other initiatives for payors, including the annual enterprise strategy planning process for one and the development of business plans for new customer-centric vertical investments for another.
Rohit holds a master’s degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, India. Before joining McKinsey, he worked in product development and management for Trilogy Inc. in China, India, and the US.
