Dr. Joe Mitchell
Joe Mitchell, a partner in McKinsey’s Boston office, helps lead the firm’s Healthcare Systems and Services Practice. Since joining the firm in 2007, he has served a variety of clients throughout the healthcare industry, most recently focusing on healthcare payors and providers. Joe has served payors on a variety of topics, including implications of healthcare reform, growth strategy, and integrated care-delivery models for both national payors and regional plans. Recently, he worked with a large regional payor to develop an integrated delivery network and redesign their network configuration. He has also served a leading academic medical center on organizational redesign and growth strategy.
Before joining McKinsey, Joe trained in the Harvard urology residency program at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He also completed an NIH-sponsored research fellowship in prostate cancer at UC San Francisco. He received his MD from Washington University in St. Louis after graduating from Stanford University.
