Elizabeth Seem


Elizabeth ("Lissa") Seem is a solution partner and leader of McKinsey’s OrgSolutions, where she oversees the global deployment of McKinsey’s suite of data-driven tools and advanced analytics to drive substantial improvements in clients’ organizational health and performance. OrgSolutions comprises the solutions aligned with McKinsey’s Organization Practice, including the Organizational Health Index (OHI), OrgLab, and People Analytics.

Previously in McKinsey’s Washington DC Office, Lissa served a range of public sector clients both in the US and abroad on strategy, organizational effectiveness, and human capital topics. She worked closely with leaders of large, complex organizations to successfully drive substantive change programs focused on organizational performance, including restructuring to significantly improve frontline operations, developing and implementing long-term transformation strategies in highly distributed organizations, and substantially improving workforce planning, recruiting, and hiring functions.

Lissa is a member of McKinsey’s Organization Practice and has published articles on large-scale performance transformations and performance management in the transformation context. She has an AB from Princeton University, an MBA from Duke University, and a Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining McKinsey, she worked as a director of charter school finance for Edison Schools, a large private manager of public schools in the US; and as an investment banker in Lehman Brothers’ Global Consumer/Retail group. Recent articles of Lissa’s include “Shall we talk? Getting the most out of performance dialogues” (McKinsey & Company, June 2011) and “How do I transform my organization’s performance?” (McKinsey & Company, June 2011).
