Shubham Singhal

Senior Partner

Shubham Singhal, a Senior Partner in McKinsey’s Detroit office, leads the Firm’s Global Healthcare Practice. He serves leading healthcare institutions on all top-management agenda topics. His primary areas of focus include issues of corporate strategy, growth strategy, M&A, business building, and large-scale performance transformation.

Shubham has extensively served payors, both national and regional, Blues and non-Blues, for over ten years. He also serves providers, healthcare IT companies, and pharmacy players.  In addition, he has served financial services institutions across banking and insurance.

Shubham leads McKinsey’s knowledge on the future of healthcare given the forces of: healthcare reform; rise of the healthcare consumer (wholesale to retail shift); rapidly advancing digital, big data analytics, and medical technologies; and risk disaggregation and reallocation across the healthcare system.  And, defining the structural and performance implications of this transformation for payors, providers and services players across the healthcare value chain.

Shubham has led the significant expansion of McKinsey’s healthcare practice’s research through the McKinsey Center for US Health System Reform and the McKinsey Center for Healthcare Innovation as well as the breadth and depth of its client service capabilities through McKinsey Actuarial, McKinsey Healthcare Analytics, McKinsey Implementation and the McKinsey Digital Health Transformation Initiative.

Shubham graduated with an MBA from Carnegie Mellon with University Honors and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay as a National Talent Scholar.
