Brendan Buescher

Senior Partner

Brendan Buescher, a director in McKinsey’s Cleveland office, joined the Firm in 1997 and has focused on healthcare for over 16 years. He is a leader in McKinsey’s global Healthcare Systems and Services practice and the partner sponsor for Objective Health, a McKinsey Solution for healthcare providers. Objective Health delivers the Firm’s proprietary provider knowledge through technology-enabled benchmarking, performance tools, and advanced analytics. Within healthcare, Brendan has served leading healthcare institutions. He has led statewide efforts to improve population health and create sustainable healthcare delivery systems. He has also supported state-led efforts in multi-payor payment innovation. Increasingly, he has aided organizations in more complex strategic matters, including M&A and broad-based performance transformations. In addition to client service, Brendan has authored multiple articles.

Before joining McKinsey, Brendan served six years in the US Air Force, where he played an active role in intelligence collection and analysis operations during the Gulf War. After resigning his commission as captain in 1993, he consulted to the US Intelligence community. He holds an MBA with distinction and an MA degree in Asian studies from the University of Michigan and a BA degree in mathematics from Amherst College.
