Alex Harris

Associate Partner

Alex Harris, a member of the Healthcare Systems and Services Practice, has served healthcare providers and payors on a broad range of topics, including corporate strategy, M&A, and operations. Most recently, she has focused on provider growth and partnership strategy. Alex has experience across range of provider types, having served several academic medical centers and children’s hospitals. For example, she has developed partnership strategies for hospital systems by defining potential structural models and joint opportunities focused on market growth and efficiency improvements. She has also created market growth strategies and supported initial strategy roll-out for academic, non-profit and for-profit provider systems, and she has valued a hospital’s potential purchase of a local competing hospital system and advised it on tactics given likely competitive bids.

Before re-joining McKinsey in its DC location, Alex was an investment analyst with Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, a growth equity and venture capital firm. At Essex, she focused on investments in healthcare services and medical technology. Previously, Alex was a business analyst in McKinsey’s New Jersey office. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania
