Ajay Gupta

Senior Partner

Ajay Gupta is a Senior Partner in McKinsey’s Chicago office, and a leader of the firm’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Products Practice. He brings 25 years' broad experience advising top management on strategy, commercial excellence and growth, R&D and organization topics. Ajay has led the Midwest Healthcare Practice, and Medical Products groups across North America.

Ajay has also served integrated health systems, academic medical centers, post-acute providers, drug store chains, specialty pharmacy, PBMs, and other intermediaries. His research efforts include new product and therapy adoption, commercial excellence including pricing and sales, and global M&A/industry consolidation and new services models.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Ajay spent five years as a line manager with Schlumberger Wireline Field Services in Europe and Asia. He is a board member of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

Ajay received a MBA degree from Stanford University and B.Tech. degree from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
